Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has rejected another loan move for Donny van de Beek. Insisting the Dutchman must either prove himself at Old Trafford or leave permanently.
Van de Beek started a third game in a row in the Carabao Cup win over Aston Villa on Thursday night. But they haven’t been as impressive as the £40million fee the Red Devils paid for Ajax two years ago.
The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Everton. But Ten Hag was against allowing the player to make another temporary move in January.
The Red Devils boss said:
“I don’t think a loan would make any sense.”
“It will be a struggle to prove yourself in this environment. or he goes But for me, there is still a way for him. It won’t be easy for him. Because the competition here is very strong.”
“I saw that he was not on the scorer list. He is not on the list of assisted players. And he can do better.
“He hasn’t reached his limit yet. I’ve seen him better in the past. But I think he has to do better in terms of speed. and intensity in the game”
“I myself have seen the comments. But when I look back on the games against Sociedad and Villa, he was in the position I envisioned as number 10. Now it’s difficult for a number 10 player to show his true identity.
“We have the romantic idea of number 10 as the playmaker who passes the final ball. So they have to play in the center of the field UFABET
“But there it was difficult. Because today these good teams All were tightly closed in the middle. So it was difficult to get a lot of the ball.
“That’s not what Donny van de Beek is, but moving with a striker is his plus. Especially with the number 9 combination.”
“He did very well in his position. both possession of the ball and not in possession of the ball He made me more satisfied in the last game.
